MoU between University Kuala Lumpur, Universite du Sud Toulon-Var (USTV) and Campus France

February 2nd, 2009, Toulon, France – Universiti Kuala Lumpur sealed another fruitful collaboration with Universite du Sud Toulon-Var (USTV) and Campus France. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Universite du Sud Toulon-Var (USTV) and Campus France was held in conjunction with the official working visit of the Honorable Minister YB Dato’ Noh Omar, Minister of Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development (MeCD) to France. The signing of the document was made by Professor Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri, President of UniKL, Professor Dr. Laroussi Oueslati, President of USTV and Prof. Dr. Andre Siganos, Director General of Campus France.

USTV is one of a French National Public University, under Ministry of National Education, covering the area of Toulon, La Valette, Draguignan, et Saint-Raphaël. USTV is offering various disciplines covers Science and Techniques. Laws, Art and Human Sciences, Economique Sciences and Managemant. It consist of various department and faculties, including one School of Engineer / école d'ingénieur (ISITV), two Instituts Universitaires Professionnalisés (IUP) de Droit social et des Métiers de l'information et de la communication (Ingémédia), one Institut Universitaire de Technology (IUT) with 8 departments and one Service de Formation Continue et de Validation des Acquis de l'Expérience.

The MoU is aimed to lay the basis for co-operation between the UniKL and USTV with a view to enhance academic and cultural links among the two institutions through the provision of preparatory, undergraduate programmes, postgraduate programmes and professional training, joint research and other academic services. This include the establishment of bi-lateral collaboration in development and implementation of Pre France Programme and the opportunity for Malaysian students to further their study in France. UniKL through Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) has been conducting a Pre France preparatory programme for the students from Malaysia to further their studies in Bachelor and Masters level in France. Through this MoU, Malaysians students from the Pre France Programme of UniKL will be able to further their study in USTV, specifically in Institut Universitaire de Technologie (IUT) Toulon. April 2009 will mark an important milestone, where IUT Toulon will receive the first batch, consisting a group of 14 Malaysian students, who will pursue their study in Mechanical and Production Engineering (Genie Mecanique Productique). They will then further move to their Third Year (Bachelor level) and a possibility to further up to Fifth Year (Master level). This programme is a collaboration between UniKL, MARA/JPA and CampusFrance/IUT in France.
